FULL BIO
Captain Forrest Tucker, USNR (ret), has been playing croquet since 1971 at the Birnam Wood club in Montecito, CA. The most senior member of the Hall of Fame, his influence on the game in the USA has been considerable. As a stalwart supporter of the International Rules he has helped to move the American croquet scene into a position more in line with the rest of the world, as evidenced by the increasing impact of American players in international competitions. He has played throughout the UK, winning a tournament in England in the early 1980's, was second in doubles at the Berkshire British Open in 1989 and at the age of 98 still plays regularly. He recently performed an angled half-jump shot that astonished those fortunate enough to witness it.
One of the great characters of the game, the Captain is always ready with an amusing anecdote. We welcome him to the Hall of Fame and hope that he has many years of croquet play and conversation to come.
Forrest Tucker was inducted into the United States Croquet Hall of Fame in 1995.
